Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But since we're asking for your trust with your high-performance European ride or your shiny new EV, figured we owe you some straight talk about what we do with your information.
What Info We Actually Collect
When you bring your vehicle in or reach out to us, we're gonna need some basics:
- Contact stuff - Your name, phone number, email. Pretty standard, right? We need this so we can actually, y'know, contact you when your car's ready or if we find something weird during diagnostics.
- Vehicle details - Make, model, VIN, mileage, service history. This isn't us being nosy - when you're working on a BMW M4 or a Tesla Model S, the details matter. A lot.
- Payment info - Credit card details, billing address. We don't store the full card numbers though - that goes through our payment processor who's way better at security than we are.
- Service records - What we did, when we did it, parts we used. Helps us track patterns and catch issues before they become expensive problems.
How We Use Your Data
Here's the deal - we're not selling your info to random marketing companies. That's not our game. We use it for:
- Scheduling & service - Pretty obvious. Can't fix your car if we don't know when you're coming or what needs fixing.
- Follow-ups - We'll shoot you a text or email when your service is due, or if there's a recall on your vehicle. No spam, just useful stuff.
- Warranty tracking - Some of our work comes with warranties, and we gotta keep records for that.
- Making our service better - We analyze patterns (anonymously) to figure out common issues with certain models. Helps us stock the right parts and stay sharp.
Who Gets to See This Info
We're pretty protective of your data, but there are a few situations where we share it:
- Parts suppliers - Sometimes we need to order specialty parts, and they'll need your vehicle specs. But they don't get your personal contact info.
- Payment processors - When you pay, your card info goes through services like Stripe or Square. They're PCI compliant and way more secure than anything we could build.
- Legal stuff - If a court or law enforcement shows up with proper paperwork, we have to comply. Hasn't happened yet, but gotta mention it.
- Insurance companies - Only if YOU ask us to send them info for a claim or something. We don't do it otherwise.
What we DON'T do: Sell your info to data brokers, spam you with ads for stuff you don't need, or share your data with social media companies. That's just not how we roll.
Cookies & Website Tracking
Our website uses a few cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. Here's what's going on:
- Essential cookies - Keep you logged into our appointment system, remember your preferences, that sorta thing.
- Analytics - We use basic analytics to see which pages people visit, how long they stay. Helps us know if our site's actually useful or confusing as hell.
- No ad tracking - We're not following you around the internet. That's creepy and we don't have time for it.
Most browsers let you block cookies if you want, but it might make parts of our site wonky.
How We Keep Your Data Safe
Security's kinda important when you're dealing with people's personal info and expensive vehicles. Here's what we do:
- All data's encrypted - both when it's stored and when it's being sent around
- Our systems are password-protected and regularly updated
- Only our team members who actually need access to your info can see it
- We do regular backups (learned that lesson the hard way years ago)
- Physical files are locked up when we're not using them
That said, nothing's 100% hack-proof. If something ever did happen, we'd let you know ASAP and work with you to sort it out.
Your Rights (Yeah, You've Got Some)
Since we're in Canada, you've got rights under privacy laws like PIPEDA. Here's what you can do:
- Access your data - Want to see what we have on file? Just ask. We'll send it over within a reasonable timeframe.
- Correct mistakes - If something's wrong in our records, let us know and we'll fix it.
- Delete your info - If you're not coming back and want us to wipe your data, we can do that. We'll need to keep some stuff for tax/legal reasons, but we'll trash everything else.
- Opt out of marketing - Don't want service reminders or special offers? No problem, just tell us.

How Long We Keep Stuff
We don't hoard data forever. Here's our general approach:
- Service records - We keep these for 7 years (tax requirements and warranty stuff)
- Contact info - As long as you're an active customer, plus a bit after in case you come back
- Payment records - 7 years for tax purposes
- Appointment history - Usually 3-5 years, depending on the vehicle
After that, we securely delete or shred everything.
Third-Party Links
Sometimes we might link to manufacturer websites, parts suppliers, or other resources. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply. We can't control what they do, so maybe give their policies a quick glance too.
Changes to This Policy
We might update this policy from time to time - new laws, new services, whatever. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and let you know if it's a big change. We're not gonna pull any sneaky moves though.
